Maple-Cinnamon Superseed Almond Butter

Ingredients

The nuts and seeds

  • 2 cups whole raw almonds
  • 2 tablespoons whole flaxseeds
  • 2 tablespoons hemp hearts
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

The sweeteners and flavorings

  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • ½ tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla bean powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the almonds, flaxseeds, hemp hearts, chia seeds, and maple syrup.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly on the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a food processor.
  5. Add the coconut oil to the processor and blend for 5 to 10 minutes, scraping down the bowl as needed.
  6. Once smooth and drippy, add the cinnamon, salt, and vanilla, and process until combined.
  7. Store the almond butter in a glass jar or airtight container, allowing it to cool to room temperature before sealing.
