Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • ¾ cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Add-Ins

  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup Sno-Caps (or any kind of baking chips)

Instructions

  1. 1. Beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until creamy.
  2. 2. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  3. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  4. 4. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. 5. Stir in the chocolate chips and Sno-Caps.
  6. 6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  7. 7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. 8. Roll the dough into balls and place them on the baking sheets.
  9. 9. Bake for 11-12 minutes until barely golden brown.
  10. 10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
