Ingredients

The meatballs

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 450-500 g chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground pepper
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

The sauce

  • ¼ cup hot sauce
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (about half a lime)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the sauce ingredients together and set aside.
  2. Chop garlic in a food processor.
  3. Add chicken pieces, salt, ground pepper, breadcrumbs, egg, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and chili flakes to the processor and pulse until combined without over-mixing.
  4. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 2 tbsp each.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs, turning until browned and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Add the sauce to the meatballs and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to coat.
