Cranberry Orange Relish

Ingredients

  • 1 whole navel orange
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • a pinch ground cinnamon
  • to taste white sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the orange into eight wedges, keeping the peel on.
  2. Pulse the orange wedges in a food processor until finely chopped.
  3. Add half of the cranberries and pulse until they're chopped but not puréed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl.
  5. Repeat the process with the remaining orange wedges and cranberries.
  6. Combine all chopped fruit in the bowl, add sugar and cinnamon, and stir well.
  7. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  8. Taste and add more sugar if necessary before serving.
