Traditional Greek Salad

Ingredients

The salad

  • 4 medium tomatoes (or 3 large), sliced into wedges
  • 1 whole cucumber, halved longways and thinly sliced
  • 1 whole green bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
  • ½ cup Kalamata olives (with or without pits)
  • ¼ whole red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained
  • 6 ounces block feta cheese, cut into quarters

The dressing

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, olives, onion, and capers in a large bowl.
  2. Place the feta cheese pieces on top of the salad.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Toss gently and serve.
