The chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts

The seasonings

  • to taste salt

The cooking liquid

  • ½ inch water

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease it.
  3. Cook the first side of the chicken until browned, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Flip the chicken and brown the second side for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Add about ½-inch of water to the skillet, reduce heat to medium, cover, and cook for 5 to 8 minutes.
  6. Check the chicken with an instant-read thermometer; it should read 165°F.
  7. Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
