Instructions
- Boil the smoked turkey leg or wing in water until tender.
- Wash the turnip greens thoroughly to remove dirt.
- Remove the stems from the greens and slice them into smaller pieces.
- Heat olive oil in a large pot and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Deglaze the pot with chicken broth.
- Add the greens in batches, allowing them to wilt.
- Stir in Creole seasoning, smoked paprika, sugar, and the smoked turkey.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to medium-low.
- Cook for about 2 hours or until the greens are soft and the turkey is tender.
- Remove the turkey, shred the meat, and return it to the pot. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve the greens warm.
