Instructions
- Combine half of the water, sugar, salt, and cocoa powder in a saucepan and warm over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a full boil while whisking, then reduce heat and simmer for thirty seconds.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and espresso.
- Add the remaining water and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and chill in the refrigerator for about an hour.
- Once chilled, freeze the mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
