Ingredients

The Blondies

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2⅓ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate morsels
  • 1 tablespoon white chocolate morsels for topping

The Cinnamon-Sugar Filling

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt, then mix into the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in the white chocolate morsels to create a thick and sticky dough.
  6. Press half of the dough into the prepared pan, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Top with the remaining dough, pressing it down and covering the cinnamon layer.
  8. Sprinkle the top with the reserved cinnamon-sugar and bake for 32-35 minutes.
  9. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
