Instructions
- Combine water, apple juice, brown sugar, and salt in a stock pot and heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Add black pepper, thyme, rosemary, bay leaves, garlic, oranges, and honey. Stir and bring to a boil until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and let the brine cool completely.
- Place the thawed turkey breast side down in a container.
- Pour the cooled brine over the turkey, ensuring it is fully submerged. Add more cold water if necessary.
- Cover the container and refrigerate for 16-48 hours, with a minimum of 8 hours.
- After brining, remove the turkey, pat dry, and let it come to room temperature before cooking.
