Instructions
- Prepare the turkey by removing any wrappings and giblets, then place it in a brining pot.
- Heat about 4 cups of water until warm, then dissolve the salt and sugar in it.
- Let the brine cool, then add the remaining cold water and apple cider.
- Pour the brine over the turkey and add garlic, thyme, rosemary, sage, bay leaves, peppercorns, pepper flakes, orange, and lemon slices.
- Stir the mixture, add ice if available, and cover the pot.
- Refrigerate the turkey for 12 to 24 hours, allowing it to brine.
- After brining, remove the turkey, dry it with paper towels, brush with oil, and season as desired.
