Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon anise or vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the pizzelle iron and coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, butter, eggs, anise or vanilla extract, and baking powder.
  3. Drop slightly rounded tablespoons of batter onto the pizzelle iron and close it.
  4. Bake according to the manufacturer's instructions or until golden brown, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  5. Use a nonstick spatula to remove the pizzelle to a cooling rack and repeat with the remaining batter.
  6. Cool completely and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
