Instructions
- Preheat the pizzelle iron and coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, butter, eggs, anise or vanilla extract, and baking powder.
- Drop slightly rounded tablespoons of batter onto the pizzelle iron and close it.
- Bake according to the manufacturer's instructions or until golden brown, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Use a nonstick spatula to remove the pizzelle to a cooling rack and repeat with the remaining batter.
- Cool completely and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
