Instructions
- Rinse and drain the beans and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, ketchup, maple syrup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, dry mustard, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat and sauté the onion until fragrant and soft.
- Add the barbecue sauce mixture to the onions and bring to a boil.
- Add the drained beans, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve warm.
