Instructions
- Combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and butter in a food processor and pulse until coarse crumbs form.
- Slowly add cold milk or cream while mixing until the dough is slightly shaggy.
- Divide the dough into two discs, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Roll out the dough and cut into heart shapes, refrigerating them as you prepare the filling.
- For the filling, heat the cream until boiling, pour over chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth. Add peanut butter if desired.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Brush the edges of half the hearts with egg wash, add filling, and top with another heart. Seal and crimp the edges.
- Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until edges are set and filling is warm.
- Cool slightly before drizzling with melted chocolate and serving.
