Simple Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies

Instructions
- Soften the butter in a stand mixer and beat until light and fluffy.
- Add sugar and mix well, then add eggs and milk, mixing until uniform.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually stir into the butter mixture.
- Divide the dough into four parts, shape into disks, wrap, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and roll out the dough to ¼-inch thickness.
- Cut into shapes and arrange on parchment paper, leaving space between cookies.
- Chill the cut cookies briefly, then bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are toasty.
- Cool completely on a rack before icing.
- For icing, whisk together powdered sugar and egg whites until smooth.
- Thin with water as desired and color if preferred, then apply to cookies.
