Instructions
- Prepare the pizza sauce by combining tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and sugar in a saucepan and simmering for 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place each half of the Italian bread crust-side down on the baking sheet and spread ½ cup of pizza sauce over each half.
- Sprinkle ½ cup of shredded cheese on top of the sauce, followed by ½ of the pepperoni and diced green pepper, then top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake the pizza for 15 minutes, checking for melted cheese and golden brown edges; bake for an additional 5 minutes if necessary.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
