Ingredients

Pizza Sauce

  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • ¼ cup Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Pizza

  • 1 loaf Italian bread, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 2 cups shredded pizza cheese mix
  • 4 oz mini pepperoni
  • 1 large green pepper, diced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pizza sauce by combining tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and sugar in a saucepan and simmering for 5 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Place each half of the Italian bread crust-side down on the baking sheet and spread ½ cup of pizza sauce over each half.
  4. Sprinkle ½ cup of shredded cheese on top of the sauce, followed by ½ of the pepperoni and diced green pepper, then top with the remaining cheese.
  5. Bake the pizza for 15 minutes, checking for melted cheese and golden brown edges; bake for an additional 5 minutes if necessary.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
