Sweet + Spicy Crispy Cashews

Ingredients

The cashews

  • 2 cups raw cashews

The seasoning

  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • dash dried chilies
  • to taste seasoning

The wet ingredients

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • juice of half a lime
  • dash liquid smoke

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another bowl, stirring both well.
  3. Add cashews to the wet mixture and stir until coated, then let sit for about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove excess liquid from the cashews and transfer them to the dry ingredients bowl, stirring until well coated.
  5. Transfer the cashews to the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.
  7. Serve as a snack or add to salads or sandwiches.
