Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and creamy.
- Mix in the oil, eggs, and sour cream until well combined.
- Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt, then sift in the cocoa powder and mix until combined.
- Form the dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
- Flatten each dough ball with a sugared glass to about ¼-inch thick.
- Bake for 8-9 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
- For the frosting, cream together the butter and 1 cup of powdered sugar until fluffy.
- Add the remaining powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and sifted cocoa powder, and mix until thick and creamy.
- Spread the frosting on the cooled cookies and add sprinkles if desired.
