Ingredients

  • ¼ jalapeño jalapeño
  • ½ Tbsp agave syrup
  • tsp water
  • 1/3 cup juice from red or pink grapefruit
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice
  • to taste sparkling water or grapefruit Lacroix
  • 1 wedge grapefruit for serving
  • optional sea salt, kosher salt, or Tajin seasoning for the rim

Instructions

  1. Prepare a salt rim by mixing salt with grapefruit zest in a shallow bowl.
  2. Chop the jalapeño and muddle it with agave syrup and water in a shaker.
  3. Add grapefruit and lime juices to the muddled mixture and let it infuse for 15 minutes for more spice.
  4. If using a salt rim, moisten the glass rim with a grapefruit wedge and roll it in the salt mixture.
  5. Fill the glass with ice, pour in the jalapeño mixture, and top with sparkling water.
  6. Serve with a grapefruit wedge.
