Ingredients

Dumpling Wrappers

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ¾ cup warm water

Filling

  • ½ pound ground pork
  • 1 cup canned sweet corn
  • 6 medium-size shrimp, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese Shaoxing rice wine

Dipping Sauce

  • to taste Chinese black vinegar
  • to taste chili oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dumpling wrappers by mixing flour, salt, and warm water until a rough dough forms. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth, then let it rest for another 10 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into two portions, roll into cylinders, and cut into 15 equal pieces. Flatten each piece into a round wrapper.
  4. Prepare the filling by combining ground pork, sweet corn, chopped shrimp, egg, garlic, ginger, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
  5. Assemble the dumplings by placing a spoonful of filling on each wrapper, folding it in half, and sealing the edges.
  6. Boil water in a pot and cook the dumplings for 5 minutes after they float, then remove and serve with dipping sauce.
