Ingredients

Turkey Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • ½ oz Pork rinds (crushed; or ¼ cup almond flour)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 medium Green onion (sliced thinly)
  • 1 tbsp Coconut aminos
  • 1 tsp Sea salt
  • ¼ tsp Ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper
  • ½ tsp Blackstrap molasses (optional)

Asian Sauce

  • cup Coconut aminos
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • ¼ tsp Ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp Garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper
  • ¼ tsp Blackstrap molasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all meatball ingredients except for the ground turkey, then add the turkey and mix until just combined.
  3. Using a small cookie scoop, form 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for about 10 minutes until they are barely cooked through, then switch to broil for 1-3 minutes until browned.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by whisking together the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan and simmering for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  6. Toss the meatballs with the sauce before serving, garnishing with additional green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
