How to Cut a Watermelon
Instructions
- To cut wedges, slice ¼-inch off one end of the watermelon.
- Stand the watermelon on the flat side and slice it in half lengthwise.
- Place one half cut side down and slice it in half lengthwise again.
- Slice each half crosswise into 1-inch wedges and repeat with the other half.
- For cubes, slice ¼-inch off both ends of the watermelon.
- Remove the rind by slicing downward along the border between the red flesh and white rind.
- Cut the watermelon flesh into 1-inch planks and then into cubes.
- To make balls, slice ¼-inch off one end and split the watermelon in half lengthwise.
- Use a melon baller or small scoop to form balls from the watermelon flesh.
