  • 1 whole watermelon

Instructions

  1. To cut wedges, slice ¼-inch off one end of the watermelon.
  2. Stand the watermelon on the flat side and slice it in half lengthwise.
  3. Place one half cut side down and slice it in half lengthwise again.
  4. Slice each half crosswise into 1-inch wedges and repeat with the other half.
  5. For cubes, slice ¼-inch off both ends of the watermelon.
  6. Remove the rind by slicing downward along the border between the red flesh and white rind.
  7. Cut the watermelon flesh into 1-inch planks and then into cubes.
  8. To make balls, slice ¼-inch off one end and split the watermelon in half lengthwise.
  9. Use a melon baller or small scoop to form balls from the watermelon flesh.
