Ingredients

The granola base

  • 4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup oat bran
  • 1 cup sliced almonds

The syrup mixture

  • ¼ cup molasses
  • cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup canola oil
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • tsp salt

The mix-ins

  • ½ cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, oat bran, and almonds.
  3. In a small pot, heat molasses, brown sugar, oil, water, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Pour the syrup mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until well coated.
  5. Spread the mixture on the baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, then stir.
  6. Continue baking for another 10-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and stir in raisins, then press down and let cool.
  8. Once cool, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
