Small Batch Walnut Brownies

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp espresso powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ cup walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat, then whisk in cocoa, sugar, and espresso until smooth.
  3. Allow the batter to cool for 7-8 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Add the egg and vanilla to the cooled batter and whisk until smooth.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in the walnuts.
  7. Line a 4" x 9" bread pan with parchment paper and pour in the batter, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, being careful not to overbake.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.
