Easy Salmon Burgers

Ingredients

The salmon patties

  • 1 ½ pounds skinless salmon fillet
  • cup gluten-free panko or grated parmesan
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 2 teaspoons spicy brown or Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ tablespoon hot sauce

Toppings

  • to taste garlic aioli or sauce of choice

Instructions

  1. Chop half the salmon finely and place it in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Place the remaining salmon in a food processor and pulse until chopped into ¼-inch pieces.
  3. Combine the processed salmon with the chopped salmon in the mixing bowl.
  4. Add panko, green onion, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, and hot sauce to the bowl and mix well.
  5. Shape the mixture into 4 patties and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (400°F) and lightly grease it.
  7. Cook the patties for 3 to 5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  8. Serve immediately on gluten-free buns with desired toppings.
