The steak

  • 2 steaks NY Strip, Ribeye, Sirloin, etc (8-10oz each)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Lemon Butter Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1½-2 teaspoons lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lemon butter sauce by combining butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a saucepan over medium-high heat until the zest dissolves.
  2. Allow the steaks to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
  3. Pat the steaks dry and season both sides with lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat with olive oil.
  5. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side, ensuring the edges are also seared.
  6. Check the internal temperature using a meat thermometer to achieve desired doneness.
  7. Drizzle the cooked steak with lemon butter sauce and let it rest for at least 3 minutes before slicing.
