Clarified Butter
Instructions
- 1. In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the butter without boiling or agitation.
- 2. As the butter melts, the solids will rise to the top and the water will sink to the bottom.
- 3. Once melted, skim the milk solids from the top using a ladle or slotted spoon.
- 4. Transfer the butterfat to a clean saucepan or bowl, leaving the water in the bottom of the original saucepan.
