  • 1 cup unsalted butter from grass-fed cows

Instructions

  1. Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  2. Continue to simmer the melted butter gently until it starts bubbling.
  3. Watch for the bubbles to get smaller until the surface resembles foam.
  4. Observe the milk solids as they begin to brown and clump together.
  5. Once the milk solids turn a deep golden brown, remove the pan from heat after about 8 to 10 minutes.
  6. Strain the hot ghee through a triple layer of cheesecloth into a heat-safe bowl.
  7. Discard the filtered milk solids.
  8. Transfer the ghee into a sealed glass jar for storage.
