Instructions
- Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
- Continue to simmer the melted butter gently until it starts bubbling.
- Watch for the bubbles to get smaller until the surface resembles foam.
- Observe the milk solids as they begin to brown and clump together.
- Once the milk solids turn a deep golden brown, remove the pan from heat after about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Strain the hot ghee through a triple layer of cheesecloth into a heat-safe bowl.
- Discard the filtered milk solids.
- Transfer the ghee into a sealed glass jar for storage.
