French Toast Casserole

Instructions
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and layer the bread cubes in it.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes.
- If preparing ahead, cover and refrigerate overnight; otherwise, let it stand for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Drizzle the casserole with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and pecans.
- Cover and bake for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 to 20 minutes until the topping is browned.
- Let the casserole stand for 10 minutes before serving with maple syrup.
