Instructions
- Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, and scallions in a medium bowl.
- Whisk together egg and water in a small bowl to create an egg wash.
- Arrange 5 to 10 wonton wrappers on a clean surface and brush edges with egg wash.
- Place 1 rounded teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper and fold to seal.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 375 degrees.
- Fry wontons in small batches until golden brown, about 15 to 20 seconds, then drain on paper towels.
- Alternatively, bake at 350 degrees in muffin cups for 18 to 20 minutes until golden.
