Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce or GF Braggs Liquid Aminos
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup cold water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch or arrowroot

Instructions

  1. Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan.
  2. Heat the mixture on medium-low until it simmers slowly.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together water and cornstarch, then add it to the simmering sauce.
  4. Allow the sauce to boil briefly, then remove from heat.
