Ingredients

  • 24 ounces strawberries or fruit of choice
  • 2-4 tablespoons honey, maple syrup, or agave
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine the fruit and 2 tablespoons of honey in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Cook until the fruit liquefies, about 5 to 10 minutes for berries.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil and cook for about 5 minutes until it breaks down and becomes saucy, mashing lightly to desired consistency.
  4. Taste for sweetness and add more honey if desired.
  5. Stir in chia seeds and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes to thicken.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 2 months.
