Ingredients

  • 1 pound fruit (such as strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, plums, pears, peaches)
  • ΒΌ cup maple syrup, honey, or other sweetener (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit by washing, hulling, and chopping if necessary.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the fruit and sweetener.
  3. Heat the fruit until it liquefies, stirring occasionally for about 5-15 minutes.
  4. Allow the mixture to boil for about five minutes until it becomes saucy.
  5. Mash the fruit to your desired consistency, then taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  6. Stir in the chia seeds and let cook for another minute.
  7. Remove from heat and let sit for about 10 minutes to thicken.
  8. If the jam is too thin, add more chia seeds and let sit for another 10 minutes.
  9. Once cooled, transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
