Ingredients

  • 1 pound okra, ends and tops trimmed, then chopped into 1 inch pieces
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon celtic sea salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat.
  2. Carmelize the onion by sautéing it for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Add the okra, water, and salt to the skillet.
  4. Cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the water has evaporated and the okra is tender.
  5. Serve the cooked okra.
