Ingredients

The chicken

  • 1 lb Boneless skinless chicken breasts

The seasoning and cooking oil

  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • as needed Cooking spray or cooking oil

The liquid

  • ½ inch Water or chicken broth

Instructions

  1. 1. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. 2. Heat a skillet with a lid over medium-high heat and add cooking spray or oil.
  3. 3. Add the chicken to the pan and cook until browned, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. 4. Flip the chicken and brown the other side.
  5. 5. Add about ½ inch of water or broth to the pan, cover, and reduce heat to medium.
  6. 6. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, adding more liquid if necessary.
  7. 7. Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.
  8. 8. Shred the chicken using your preferred method.
