Ingredients

Seafood

  • 8 pieces shrimp, peeled and de-veined
  • 8 pieces scallops
  • 20 pieces mussels
  • 20 pieces littleneck clams

Sauce and Seasoning

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
  • teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 2 ounces white wine (optional)

Pasta

  • pound spaghetti or other long pasta

Instructions

  1. Clean the mussels and clams under cold water and refrigerate until needed.
  2. Prepare the pasta according to package instructions, typically around 10-11 minutes for al dente.
  3. In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, add olive oil, garlic, basil, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about a minute.
  4. Add the scallops and shrimp to the pan and cook until almost done, then remove them from the pan.
  5. If using, add white wine to the pan to deglaze before adding the mussels and clams.
  6. Add the mussels and clams to the pan, cover, and cook for 5-6 minutes until they open.
  7. Return the shrimp and scallops to the pan, re-season if necessary.
  8. Serve the seafood mixture over the cooked pasta and enjoy.
