Ingredients

The seafood

  • 1 pound mussels
  • 8 ounces sea scallops
  • 8 ounces large shrimp

The pasta

  • 12 ounces whole wheat linguine noodles

The sauce

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Aromatics and seasonings

  • 1 medium shallot
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • cup chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Other

  • cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Clean the mussels and soak them in water with flour for 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the pasta to al dente, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
  3. In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil, then sear the scallops and shrimp.
  4. Remove seafood and sauté shallot and garlic in the same skillet.
  5. Add wine, oregano, basil, and Old Bay, then add mussels and steam until they open.
  6. Combine cooked pasta, seafood, lemon juice, and parsley in the skillet and toss everything together.
