Instructions
- Prepare the pie crust by mixing flour, salt, and sugar, then cutting in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Add cold water gradually until the dough forms, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Mix all filling ingredients in a large bowl and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out one disc of dough into an 18x13-inch rectangle and fit it into a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan.
- Spread the apple filling evenly over the crust.
- Roll out the second disc of dough and place it over the filling, sealing the edges.
- Cut slits in the top crust and brush with egg wash, then sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 40-46 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool on a wire rack, then prepare the glaze and drizzle it over the pie before serving.
