Ingredients

  • 1 lb loaf of French bread, cubed
  • 6 count egg whites
  • 3 count eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups skim milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 12 oz package frozen unsweetened mixed berries
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter
  • cup packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. Mist a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray and fill it with bread cubes.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, whisk together egg whites, eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until combined.
  3. 3. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, cover with foil, and refrigerate overnight.
  4. 4. Remove the frozen berries from the freezer 30 minutes before baking to let them defrost and preheat the oven to 350°F.
  5. 5. Bake the dish in the oven, covered, for 30 minutes.
  6. 6. Mix brown sugar and cold butter in a bowl until it forms a fine crumble.
  7. 7. After 30 minutes, sprinkle the berries and brown sugar crumble over the bread and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes.
