Ingredients

The dough

  • 1 Tbsp yeast
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup cream
  • cup unsalted butter
  • cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

The raspberry swirl

  • cups raspberry jam
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter

The cream cheese icing

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp whole milk

Instructions

  1. Combine yeast and warm water in a mixing bowl and let rest until bubbly.
  2. Heat milk, cream, and butter in a saucepan until nearly boiling, then stir in sour cream and cool to 110-115 degrees.
  3. Add the cooled milk mixture to the yeast mixture along with egg, vanilla, salt, and sugar, then mix in flour and knead until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Sprinkle baking powder over the dough and knead for another minute.
  6. Divide the dough into two portions and roll each into a rectangle.
  7. Brush each rectangle with melted butter and spread the raspberry jam mixture over it.
  8. Roll up the dough tightly and slice into rolls, placing them on greased pans to rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and bake the rolls until golden, about 17-19 minutes.
  10. Prepare the cream cheese icing by whipping together butter and cream cheese, then adding vanilla, powdered sugar, and milk.
  11. Spread or pipe icing over the warm rolls.
