Instructions
- Combine milk, sugar, and cornstarch in a saucepan and simmer while whisking until thickened.
- Whisk the egg yolk in a bowl and temper it with the hot milk mixture.
- Add the tempered egg mixture back to the saucepan.
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave and stir it into the saucepan along with vanilla.
- Simmer the mixture for an additional 15 minutes while whisking constantly.
- Transfer the pudding to a bowl, cover with wax paper, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Layer the pudding and Tru Whip in dessert glasses before serving.
