fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Cook the grits by boiling broth, butter, and salt, then gradually stir in the grits and cook until absorbed.
- Remove from heat and stir in milk and shredded cheese, letting it thicken.
- In a skillet, fry bacon or sausage until crisp, then set aside and reserve grease.
- Cook seasoned shrimp in the reserved grease until cooked through, then set aside.
- Sauté onions and garlic in the skillet until translucent, then add broth, Cajun seasoning, and lemon juice.
- Combine with crumbled bacon or sausage, and serve over the grits topped with shrimp.
