Apple Crisp Bars

The glaze

mascarpone or cream cheese, softened

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Melt 14 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat until browned and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter and cook the apples with brown sugar and cinnamon until caramelized.
- Combine the remaining brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, baking soda, pecans, coconut, maple syrup, and vanilla with the browned butter.
- Press most of the mixture into the bottom of the baking dish, layer the caramelized apples on top, and sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and crisp on top, then cool before cutting.
- For the glaze, mix mascarpone, maple syrup, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over the bars before serving.
