Grilled Tofu

Ingredients

The tofu

  • 2 14-ounce blocks extra-firm tofu
  • to taste sea salt

The seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • tablespoons fajita seasoning
  • tablespoons chili powder
  • tablespoons curry powder
  • ¼ cup tamari or soy sauce

For serving

  • to taste lime wedges
  • to taste cilantro lime dressing
  • to taste sesame ginger dressing

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in a kitchen towel and placing a heavy skillet on top for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  3. Slice each block of tofu into 4 slabs and place them on a tray.
  4. Drizzle the tofu with avocado oil and sprinkle with your chosen seasoning, coating both sides.
  5. Brush or spray the grill grates with oil.
  6. Grill the tofu for 2 to 3 minutes per side until char marks form and it releases from the grill.
  7. Serve with lime wedges and/or dressing based on the seasoning used.
