Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and boil water.
- Pour the condensed milk into a small baking dish and cover tightly with foil.
- Place a sheet of parchment paper in a larger baking dish and set the smaller dish on top.
- Fill the larger dish with boiling water until it reaches halfway up the side of the smaller dish.
- Bake for 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours, checking every 45 minutes to add more boiling water if needed.
- Check under the foil after 1 ½ hours; it’s done when the milk turns golden brown.
- Carefully remove the pans from the oven and cool until manageable.
- Stir the dulce de leche until smooth and serve.
