Ingredients

Dulce de Leche

  • 1 can (14-ounce) sweetened condensed milk

Special Equipment

  • Foil
  • Parchment paper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and boil water.
  2. Pour the condensed milk into a small baking dish and cover tightly with foil.
  3. Place a sheet of parchment paper in a larger baking dish and set the smaller dish on top.
  4. Fill the larger dish with boiling water until it reaches halfway up the side of the smaller dish.
  5. Bake for 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours, checking every 45 minutes to add more boiling water if needed.
  6. Check under the foil after 1 ½ hours; it’s done when the milk turns golden brown.
  7. Carefully remove the pans from the oven and cool until manageable.
  8. Stir the dulce de leche until smooth and serve.
