Easy Crock-Pot Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 6 apples mix of different varieties, cored and sliced
  • 1 naval orange sliced
  • 3 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 tsp whole clove buds
  • 1 tsp allspice berries
  • ¼ cup packed coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 7 cups water

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients into the slow cooker and pour the water over the top.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours.
  3. After 3 hours, remove the cinnamon sticks and orange slices. If needed, remove some water.
  4. Blend the mixture into a slurry using a hand blender or potato masher.
  5. Add the removed liquid back in and discard the cinnamon and orange slices.
  6. Cover and cook for an additional hour on high.
  7. Strain the cider through a mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
  8. Serve immediately, keep warm in the slow cooker, or chill in the refrigerator.
