Instructions
- Beat together the butter and sugar in a large bowl using a hand mixer.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat until creamy.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and combine.
- Use a spatula to ensure the dough is completely combined.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet.
- Flour a surface and rolling pin, then roll the dough to ¼-½ inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into shapes using cookie cutters and re-roll scraps.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes until slightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool completely before icing.
- Mix the icing ingredients and add food dye to achieve desired colors.
