Ingredients

The apple filling

  • 6 cups apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp all spice
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

The crumble topping

  • ½ cup blanched almond flour
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ cup coconut oil, melted

The salted caramel drizzle

  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • 3 tbsp coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp cashew butter
  • to taste sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 12" skillet or 9x13" pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all apple filling ingredients and toss to coat.
  3. Dump the apple mixture into the greased skillet or pan.
  4. In the same bowl, combine all crumble topping ingredients and mix with a fork.
  5. Crumble the topping over the apple mixture.
  6. Transfer to the oven and bake for about 35 minutes until apples are soft but not mushy.
  7. While the crumble is baking, make the salted caramel sauce by heating coconut sugar and coconut milk in a small skillet, stirring frequently.
  8. Add cashew butter and sea salt, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  9. Once the crumble is done, remove from the oven and serve with the caramel drizzled on top.
