The filling

Instructions
- Combine almond flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
- In a small bowl, mix butter and maple syrup.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
- Place the sliced apples in a 2-quart baking dish.
- Crumble the topping over the apples.
- Cover and bake at 350°F for 50 minutes on the low rack.
- Remove the cover and bake for an additional 10 minutes to brown the crisp.
- Serve warm.
