Ingredients

Dulce de Leche Rum Butter Truffles

  • 1 ounce sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup dulce de leche
  • 2 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon rum (optional)
  • to taste amount melted chocolate for dipping (optional)
  • to taste amount good quality sprinkles, toasted pistachios, almonds, coconut or edible gold leaf (optional)

Chocolate Truffle Martini

  • 1 shot vanilla vodka
  • 1 shot light Godiva chocolate liqueur
  • 1 shot dark Godiva chocolate liqueur
  • a splash amount Baileys
  • to taste amount chocolate syrup for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Combine sweetened condensed milk, dulce de leche, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and salt in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Bring to a gentle boil while stirring constantly, then reduce heat and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until thick and shiny.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in butter, vanilla, and optional rum until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into a bowl, cover, and chill in the fridge for at least 1.5 hours.
  5. Once chilled, roll the mixture into 1 to 1.5 inch balls and coat with sprinkles or chocolate.
  6. For the martini, add vanilla vodka, light Godiva, dark Godiva, and Baileys to a shaker with ice and shake well.
  7. Drizzle chocolate syrup inside a martini glass and strain the mixture into the glass.
  8. Garnish with one or two truffles.
